Bethany's Irk of the Day (and Reason to Transfer #49):

Christians who don't like Christian music, Christians themselves, or the Bible.
These people talk about how much secular music ministers to them, how non-believers are more "real," and how normal books connect with them more.

This is crap.

I'm not saying that people have to love Christian music, I just think that's obnoxious.

However, we are called to have fellowship with other Christians. This shame of fellow believers in Christ really has to stop. We are called to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together as is the manner of some. People who are always "ministering" to the lost (by agreeing with all their ideas) but never meeting with those who know the truth, only end up becoming like the world and being no use at all.

As for the Bible, it's not some word of man. God wrote it! I don't care how much the secular books feed your soul, God said to read this book. It's all fine and dandy to see God in other ways, but we ought to first be looking in the places He already specifically told us we could find Him in.

I knew coming in this year that I was coming to one of the more liberal of Christian schools, but this year is going to be taxing.

To be perfectly honest, I don't like most "Christian music". I have very strict requirements for music that I listen to of the Christian variety, and most doesn't fit. I often don't like "Christians", as, particularly in certain places, they come across as being quite haughty, obnoxious, and rude. On the Bible, I agree-- Christians should read it, and it's not an option to like or dislike it if you claim the title "Christian".

However, we are called to have fellowship with other Christians. This shame of fellow believers in Christ really has to stop. We are called to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together as is the manner of some.

This is actually something that has really annoyed me about many of the people from a certain college I attended. They seem to think that just because they're at a Christian school and the school has a worship time in the evenings, particularly on Sunday evenings, there is no need for them to attend church, with the rest of the Christian community. Why in the world is it okay for them to dis the Christian community completely, and yet claim to be a part of it??

1), A good homeschooled kid like you, should know that Bible is capitalized. 2), God did not *write* the Bible, He inspired it. His hand did not hold the pen (or whatever the writing instrument was). He simply guided the minds of those who's hands did do the writing. So, since it is inspired by God, and therefore, His Word, I agree, should be one of the books of choice, and of all available books, the one that is chosen to be read every day.

Regarding school-- I hope your year gets better... it really stinks when the year starts badly and just keeps getting worse.

Little Ooshkins, I have good news for you.

A while back I bought the H&M expansion pack and now I have the Seasons expansion pack...so I don't need the H&M disk to run my sims game...
